Rex's Freight Notes

From LCL Operations to Dangerous Goods

Before I sold freight services, I worked on the details that make a shipment move. That is where my story starts: Europe-bound general cargo LCL from Shanghai in 2008.

Short Answer

My career connects three perspectives: LCL operations, dangerous goods sales and running a forwarding business. Operational experience is a foundation, not a substitute for DG review. Today I focus on Shanghai dangerous goods sea freight, mainly FCL, alongside DG LCL and general cargo LCL.

Classification, packing and acceptance remain subject to the current edition of applicable regulations, carrier review and port requirements. Confirm before shipment.

A career built from the operation outward

I came to Shanghai in 2005 to study logistics management. After graduating in 2008, I joined Shanghai Portever and worked on Europe-lane general cargo LCL operations.

In September 2009, I moved to Shanghai Hanwan and began dangerous goods logistics sales. The move broadened the questions behind a booking: not only space and departure, but whether the cargo, documents and proposed handling arrangement fit together.

What carries over—and what needs separate review

LCL work makes the connections between dimensions, warehouse arrangements, documents and deadlines tangible. A quote is useful only when the assumptions behind it match the shipment.

Dangerous goods is not ordinary freight with one extra check. Classification, packaging, documentation and acceptance need their own review. Experience helps identify the right questions; it does not remove those checks.

From personal experience to a business relationship

I co-founded SEAJOY in July 2013 and THANKSTART in December 2024. The later business was established with a stronger international focus, including cooperation with overseas forwarders.

This website brings that career into view. It explains how I approach a shipment, what I need to assess it, and which parts of an assignment I undertake. A clear scope is the starting point for a dependable working relationship.
